QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required
CT Teaching Certification preferred (040/041)
Applicants Should:
Have experience with Animal Science, Natural Resources, and Floriculture subject areas that the candidate will be teaching.
Be familiar with the FFA and how important it is to an Agriscience Program.
Be familiar and have experience with Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) Programs and be able to grade using SAE provided rubric.
Have the ability to plan and develop curriculum materials based on needs of students and agriculture community and possess satisfactory skills in instructional methods.
Be able to deliver academically rigorous educational content that includes UConn Early College Experience classes.
Be able to work as a team with other instructors in the Agriscience and Technology Program.
Be able to maintain and coordinate the use of an extensive variety of instructional tools and equipment in the classroom as well as in laboratories in a hands-on setting.
Be able to enter grades, attend PPTs and attend parent teacher conferences as required.
Be a professional and positive representative of the Southington Regional Agriculture Program and assist with FFA activities as needed.
