Substitute Teacher

The School District of Reedsburg is looking for qualified substitute teachers at all grade levels.

Instructs students and facilitates their learning in the absence of the regular teacher.

Provides classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans.

Creates a classroom that is conductive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.

Maintains a safe and orderly environment.

Maintains established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned.

Communicates effectively with parents when needed.

Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated.

Completes other duties as assigned.

You must qualify for a substitute teaching license prior to hire by having the appropriate minimum degree and completing a substitute training course.

A three-year short-term substitute license may be issued to an applicant who holds an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university and who has successfully completed an approved substitute training program, but has not completed a state-approved educator preparation program.

Once an educator holds a current three-year short-term substitute license, they may substitute at any Wisconsin school district that employs them.

The five-year long-term substitute license may be issued to an applicant who has completed a state-approved educator preparation program through an accredited four-year bachelor degree-granting institution.
