ESS has partnered with the Somers (CT) School District to place passionate Substitute Teachers in the classroom for Fall 2026! We are currently looking for a dynamic Long-Term Substitute Physics Teacher to support the Somers High School Community effective immediately.

When a teacher is absent, a qualified substitute is needed to carry out the educational program. As a long-term substitute teacher, you'll become an integral part of a school's educational team, amplifying your teaching expertise while maximizing the learning experience for students! As a long-term substitute, you will be responsible for implementing provided lesson plans, grading/reporting, parent communication, and classroom management. This position will be supported by the Administration and Department Leads.

Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while the regular teacher is absent
• Review and implement the regular teachers routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment
• Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration
• Perform other duties as directed by school administration

Qualifications

• Teaching Certification Preferred (032), minimum bachelors degree with 12 credits in the specific subject area
• CT/FBI Criminal History Clearance
• Department of Children and Families Child Abuse and Neglect Registry Record Clearance
• Education Employment Verification - Act 16-67
• CT Mandated Trainings
• District-specific trainings as required
