The School District of Horicon is seeking substitute teachers for the 2026-27 school year. The daily rate is $125.00 for a full day and $62.50 for a half day. If substituting 20 consecutive days, each day after will be paid at the base teacher rate of $232.24 per day.

All applicants must obtain a current Wisconsin DPI teaching or substitute teaching license. A Tier II, III, or IV teaching license is sufficient to serve as a short-term (no more than 45 days) substitute in any subject and as a long-term (more than 45 days) substitute in the area of licensure.

Candidates interested in becoming a short-term substitute teacher must do one of the following:

  • must hold an associate degree or a higher degree from an accredited college or university and complete a DPI-approved substitute teacher training course prior to subbing for the Horicon School District.   • Are enrolled in an educator preparation program approved by the state superintendent that awards a bachelor''s degree, has successfully completed a minimum number of credits to have achieved junior status, and has completed 15 hours of classroom observation. (must be at least 20 years of age).

This is an on-call position for open teacher positions that occur on an infrequent/daily basis throughout the school year.
