Position Overview

P2K is seeking motivated college students interested in gaining hands-on experience in the civil construction industry through our Summer 2027 Internship Program.

Interns will have the opportunity to learn about the different construction phases of a project, from planning and preconstruction activities through field execution and project closeout. Students will gain exposure to active construction projects while working alongside experienced professionals in project management, field operations, engineering, and other areas of the business.

This internship is designed to provide students with practical exposure to how civil construction projects are planned, coordinated, and successfully completed.

What You Will Learn

During the internship, students may have the opportunity to:

• Learn about the different phases of a civil construction project.
• Gain exposure to active jobsites and field operations.
• Observe project planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution.
• Assist project teams with documentation and project-related activities.
• Learn how construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements are used in the field.
• Understand the coordination between project managers, field engineers, superintendents, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Gain exposure to safety, quality, production, and project controls.
• Participate in meetings and learn how construction teams identify and solve real jobsite challenges.
• Develop a better understanding of career opportunities within the civil construction industry.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
• Interest in civil construction, infrastructure, and field operations.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to learn and work in both office and field environments.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a project team.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to project sites in the Atlanta area, as needed.
