Summer 2027 Internship - Survey

Job Description:

Overview:

The Survey Field Intern supports the survey crew in the successful completion of field assignments under the direction of the Party Chief. This role offers hands-on training in field survey techniques, equipment operation, and data collection, while developing skills needed for a career in land surveying.

Responsibilities:

Assist the survey crew with field tasks, including brush clearing, setting up tripods and prisms, and carrying the survey rod for staking.

Load, unload, and maintain survey equipment and supplies for daily assignments.

Set up back sights and operate survey instruments under supervision.

Follow established safety and field procedures to ensure quality and efficiency.

Work in a variety of outdoor environments and terrains to collect accurate data for survey projects.

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited program in Surveying, Geospatial Sciences, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, both verbally and in writing.

Ability to follow directions and work as part of a coordinated team.

Familiarity with or willingness to learn survey equipment operation.

Physical ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. and perform outdoor tasks in all weather conditions.

Reliability and dependability in attendance and performance.
