Summer 2027 Nursery & Horticulture Internship

Southern States is looking for students interested in horticulture, nursery operations, and retail agriculture to join our Summer Internship Program.
This internship provides hands-on experience in nursery management, plant health, merchandising, customer engagement, and business operations while working alongside experienced horticulture professionals.

Program Details
- 10-week summer internship
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- $18.00 per hour
- Hands-on horticulture and nursery experience
- Professional development and networking opportunities
- Final project presentation
- Interns are responsible for securing their own housing and transportation
What You'll Experience

Responsibilities
- Assist with plant care and maintenance
- Support nursery inventory and merchandising efforts
- Help identify plant health issues
- Assist customers with product selection and questions
- Participate in seasonal projects and operational initiatives
- Complete a final project and presentation
Qualifications
- Enrolled in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agriculture, Agribusiness, or related program
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Team-oriented and eager to learn
- Valid driver's license preferred
