Job Description
The Superintendent - Commercial Construction - Richmond, VA will:
- Lead daily field operations on ground-up and renovation commercial construction projects.
- Manage project schedules and coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure milestones are achieved.
- Enforce site safety standards and cultivate a culture focused on jobsite safety and compliance.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, design teams, and trade partners throughout the construction process.
- Identify construction challenges proactively and develop effective solutions to maintain project momentum.
- Monitor quality control efforts and ensure work is completed according to plans and specifications.
- Coordinate inspections and maintain project documentation.
- Drive project completion while maintaining budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
- Utilize construction management software, including Procore, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to field teams and subcontractors.

The Successful Applicant
- 3-5+ years of experience serving as a Lead Superintendent on commercial construction projects.
- Proven experience managing ground-up construction projects valued at $10M+ from start to finish.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction means, methods, and sequencing.
- Demonstrated success implementing and enforcing jobsite safety programs.
- Ability to solve complex construction challenges and adapt to changing project conditions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience coordinating and managing multiple subcontractor trades.
- Working knowledge of Procore, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivated professional with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- General Contractor experience required.
