    The location in Plymouth, (North Carolina, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Superintendent, Fiberline Operations. This job is full-time permanent.

    Domtar's Plymouth Pulp Mill has an opening for a Fiberline Superintendent. This role provides overall leadership for the Fiberline area including safety, quality, environmental compliance, and production, and directly manages the Fiberline leadership team.

    Key Responsibilities

    Safety & Culture

    • Works safely and holds others accountable for working safely
    • Serves as owner of the Fiberline Area Safety Team (FAST)
    • Champions good housekeeping and high work practice standards
    • Ensures compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements

    Production & Quality

    • Ensures quality pulp is produced in a cost-efficient manner
    • Identifies cost pinch points and drives initiatives to reduce costs
    • Tracks and manages chemical addition and inventories while maintaining fluff pulp quality
    • Monitors and manages key pulp quality parameters
    • Sets daily tactical plans to maximize fluff pulp production cost-effectively
    • Sets strategic plans for slush pulp production

    Environmental Compliance

    • Understands and ensures compliance with all applicable environmental requirements

    Technical & Operational Leadership

    • Provides operational leadership and process support to the Fiberline department
    • Troubleshoots pulp mill operations, including: Kamyr EMCC continuous digesters, brown stock screening, diffusion washing, bleach plant operations (O2, D, Eop, D, P bleach line), and ClO2 production (R10 process)
    • Focuses specifically on digester operations and efficiency
    • Provides input on maintenance plans and priorities
    • Manages technical and chemical vendors/suppliers
    • Delivers technical guidance and training support to operations
    • Reviews, develops, and supports safe, effective operating guidelines and procedures
    • Participates in corporate initiatives, including the Fiberline and PSM Functional Teams

    Travel

    • Occasional or light travel required

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Pulp & Paper Technology, or a related technical/engineering discipline preferred

    Experience

    • Minimum 10 years of industry experience in Fiberline operations
    • Working knowledge of the chemistry and chemical interfaces involved in kraft digesting, bleaching, and ClO2 formation
    • Demonstrated experience with or participation in managing Process Safety Management (PSM) systems
    • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of past leadership accomplishments
    • General working knowledge of OSHA standards
    • Working knowledge of applicable environmental regulations
