Job Summary The Superintendent is responsible for field operations in assigned areas or aspects of the project. They ensure the work is performed in a safe timely profitable and ethical manner in accordance with contract documents design budget and schedule. They also directly supervise field labor forces and Assistant Superintendents. Duties and ResponsibilitiesPlans and establishes goals and objectives for a team with direct impact on the immediate- or short-term operational results of the department. May manage day-to-day elements of the budget Ex overtime for staff. Responsible for making improvements of processes systems or products to enhance performance of the job area. Solves difficult problems by drawing from prior experience analysis and consideration of broader issues job areas or specialties. Communicates with parties within and outside of own job function which may include external customers or vendors depending upon the job function. Explains policies practices and procedures of the job area to others within the organization working to gain cooperation of other parties on practices policies and procedures. Supervises a team consisting of professionals typically at the entry or experienced level. Leads directs and reviews the work of team members in order to accomplish operational plans and results. Provides primary input to hiring firing promotion performance and rewards decisions for direct reports. As a Superintendent on an active construction site this position requires regular and consistent on-site attendance to monitor and observe construction operations and participate in scheduled and ad hoc production safety and supervisory meetings. Additionally as a managersupervisor your presence is required to oversee the work of employees in addition to providing real-time feedback mentoring and coaching as needed. Education and Experience Required QualificationsBachelors degree in engineering or 8 years equivalent experience plus minimum 5 years prior relevant experience. 2 years of being a Safety and QAQC Cultural Champion 2 years Successful leadership of smaller fit out projects or an area of a larger building project 2 years experience with change order and ticket management 2 years experience with subcontractor oversite 2 years experience with schedule updates and look ahead schedules. 2 years experience with reading and delivering on plans and specs.Preferred Qualifications Preferred Procore Construction Management certification Preferred experience with broad job knowledge of technical or operational practices within electrical construction. Preferred CMIT certificate Working knowledge of design and drawing software to including but not limited to Revit AutoCAD AutoCAD Civil 3D NAVIA and Bluebeam Working knowledge of BIM 360 and BIM 360 Plan Working knowledge of Prolog and Primavera P6 Experience with JD Edwards for timekeeping project costs and other project financials.
