Superintendent (K-12)

SummaryJoining Balfour Beatty as a Superintendent in our Georgia team you will be responsible for the overall direction, completion, of construction projects assigned to you with specific focus on K-12 projects. You will have deep field leadership experience, as well as the ability to deliver high-performance results on technically challenging and high profile projects ensuring quality, profitability, and adhering to our Safety/Zero Harm culture.Essential Functions

Field Leadership: Manage all daily site operations including supervision of subcontractors, coordination of construction activities, enforcement of safety protocols, and execution of the project schedule.Schedule Management: Develop and maintain detailed look-ahead schedules; drive progress to meet critical milestones and proactively resolve conflicts and delays.Quality Assurance: Ensure all work is performed to high standards, in accordance with plans, specifications, building codes, and owner requirements.Safety Oversight: Enforce site safety policies and maintain compliance with OSHA and company standards; conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.Team Coordination: Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, consultants, and client representatives to maintain alignment and ensure clear communication.Inspections & Reporting: Coordinate with local authorities for inspections and approvals; maintain daily logs, safety documentation, and progress reports.

What you will need

Minimum 10-15 years of commercial construction/design, and field leadership experience.High School Diploma or equivalent.Proven strong understanding of all elements of commercial construction phases and the ability to guide and manage each phase of a project.Demonstrated experience building and managing ongoing relationships with subcontractors and clients.Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, submittals, and technical documents.Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Proven experience with project manager software (Constructware, P6, Timberline, etc.).

Preferred Experience

K-12/Higher Education projects experience are preferred, $10-30MBachelors degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or Architecture preferred.
