A brief summary of the types of projects include, urban expressways, bridges, underground utilities, dam construction, asphalt/concrete paving and water/wastewater treatment plants.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This person will be responsible for the safe and efficient operations of a construction project. The person will plan, direct and coordinate all crews and subcontractors to ensure safety, quality and productivity metrics are achieved. This role is classified as safety sensitive.
ACTIVITIES/TASKS/SCOPE
- Lead by example that safety is the number one priority
- Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of the project and crews
- Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements and procedure planning
- Inspect work progress, equipment or construction sites to verify safety, quality and specifications are met
- Locate, measure and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment
- Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities
- Confer with project manager or technical personnel, other departments or contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities
- Assist workers engaged in construction activities, using hand tools or other equipment
- Train and develop crew members as deemed necessary
- Maintain good customer relations by acting in a professional and courteous manner
- Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must have a clean driving record
- 5-6 years of quality experience in heavy civil construction
- 2-3 years of experience in managing and leading a team
