This is a role where your experience is valued, your leadership makes a difference, and your career can continue to grow within a stable, well-resourced organization.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSTo provide direct supervision and technical direction to the land survey group, assign survey crews to conduct surveys for property, design, and construction projects of sewers, pumping plants, water reclamation plants, and landfills.JOB SUMMARY:Under the direction of the Superintendent of Construction Inspection or higher, the incumbent will:Plan, assign, schedule, evaluate and coordinate the work of the survey crewsVisit field sites to review the progress of projectsEstablish and standardize survey technology system updates, improvements and enhancementsCollaborate with staff, vendors, and consultants to identify, analyze, recommend, and implement hardware and software applications to facilitate and enhance the planning and overall management of the survey projectsParticipate in internal and external user groups to remain current with industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologiesProvide technical guidance to subordinatesSpecify and review work proceduresContact designers and engineers to discuss changes or clarifications to survey requestsDevelop and coordinate training sessions for survey crewsPrepare reports and correspondenceWork on specialized survey projects requiring advanced survey decision makingReview surveyor’s field notesOrder supplies, materials and equipmentParticipate in recommending personnel actionsProvide guidance, reviewing, updating, revising or creating legal descriptions for both existing and proposed District properties, easements, leases or agreementsFile property line, legal descriptions, and corner surveys with the County Recorder's OfficeOversee drone operations and operating an unmanned drone for aerial surveysNOTE: Work schedule is Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 3:00 pm;
