What You'll Do:
Responsible for directing and coordinating day-to-day execution of over-the-road maintenance requirements and managing the trailer wreck and sale process. This may include process audits and improvement, complying with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations, and managing a team to ensure timely and cost effective repairs. Business needs will determine frequency and prioritization of duties.
Trailer Wreck & Sale Process Management
- Oversee the truck and trailer wreck process for all assets.
- Understand and implement the standards and requirements specific to each asset type.
- Coordinate where needed with various departments within U.S. Xpress to streamline and mitigate issues and concerns that may arise within the wreck and sale processes.
- Make financial decisions on assets based on declared value versus repair costs.
- Track and update the trailer master sale log within SharePoint.
- Develop a clear and concise understanding of SOX compliance as it pertains to the trailer sale process.
- Audit all processes associated with truck and trailer wrecks and sales and provide recommendations for improvement to upper management.
- Measure efficiency and effectiveness of all vendors associated with asset wrecks or sales.
Equipment Repair Coordination
- Review Road Call Center (RCC) issues and work orders daily to ensure departmental policies and procedures are followed.
- Review data entry for consistency, accuracy and integrity.
- Review and approve vendor expenses.
- Review lease and owner-operator charges to ensure correct billing and timely closure of any open work orders.
- Coordinate with Fleet Operations and Asset Management Teams to improve equipment utilization.
- Assist with implementation of cost control measures by reporting discrepancies to upper management.
- Evaluate departmental policies and procedures to identify issues and areas for improvement, providing recommendations to upper management.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Oversee Road Maintenance Agents' execution of their daily duties and responsibilities.
- Assist agents with day-to-day decision making.
- Assist upper management with personnel utilization through scheduling and staffing for sufficient coverage.
- Evaluate agent performance by identifying opportunities for coaching and development and addressing disciplinary issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
