    The Supplemental Program Assistant at the Center for Broadening Participation in Computing (CBPC) at Morehouse College will provide essential support in executing assigned tasks and projects that contribute to the success of student-focused programs. These initiatives aim to expand computing skills and opportunities for Morehouse College students and local public school participants.

    The Supplemental Program Assistant will focus on assisting with specific program-related duties as assigned, such as preparing materials, managing logistics during events, tracking attendance, and supporting student engagement. This position is designed to enhance the Center's capacity to operate during non-standard hours and will primarily support activities scheduled outside of regular business hours-after 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and on weekends, including evenings as needed.

    This role is ideal for individuals who are dependable, organized, and committed to supporting inclusive and impactful learning environments in computing.

    Required Qualifications

    High school diploma or equivalent

    Preferred Qualifications Preferred Education/Experience

    Some college coursework preferred, particularly in education, computer science, STEM, or a related field.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings after 5:00 p.m. and weekends.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with college students, staff, and faculty.
    • Ability to follow directions, complete assigned tasks independently, and meet deadlines.
    • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and/or other commonly used digital productivity tools.
    • Interest in working in educational or community-based programs that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in computing and STEM.

    Essential Duties/Responsiblities

    Program Support

    • Assist with the execution of student programs, such as workshops, seminars, and coding camps for Morehouse computing students and local public school students.
    • Provide on-site and virtual support for summer and weekend programs by helping to manage logistics, distributing materials, and confirming participant attendance.
    • Help maintain accurate records of program activities, attendance, and feedback for documentation and reporting purposes.

    Student Engagement

    • Support student participants during events by answering questions, offering guidance, and ensuring a welcoming and organized experience.
    • Relay information between students, staff, and faculty to ensure programs operate smoothly.
    • Help with outreach efforts related to participant recruitment and onboarding, under the guidance of program leadership.

    Event Coordination

    • Provide assistance during events such as guest speaker sessions, hackathons, and community engagement activities, especially those scheduled during evenings and weekends.
    • Support event logistics such as setup, sign-in, materials distribution, and cleanup.
    • Help promote events by distributing flyers and social media content provided by the CBPC communications team.

    Administrative Duties

    • Assist with clerical tasks including tracking program schedules, organizing materials, and handling routine correspondence.
    • Help prepare printed and digital materials such as event agendas, information sheets, and evaluation forms.
    • Support the documentation of program outcomes for internal use and external reporting.

    Collaboration and Outreach

    • Work cooperatively with CBPC staff, faculty, and partners by providing support for specific program tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
    • Attend meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities relevant to assigned duties.
    • Offer input and feedback to help improve program efficiency and participant experience.
