Position Overview We are looking for an energetic, results-driven Supplier Account Manager to join our team in our Broadview Heights office. In this role spanning Customer Operations, Account Management, and Vendor Relations, you will serve as the primary contact for customer inquiries while collaborating closely with our vendor base. You will ensure competitive pricing, accurate lead times, fast quote turnarounds, and flawless execution on high-priority customer requests in the aerospace and defense market.
Note: This is strictly an in-office position based at our Broadview Heights, OH facility. Remote applicants or requests for remote work arrangements will not be considered. Key Responsibilities Customer Account Management & Sales Support
- Serve as the main customer service and sales contact for assigned aerospace and defense accounts.
- Receive, log, and process incoming Requests for Quotation (RFQs), purchase orders, and customer inquiries.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication, regular updates, and exceptional service responsiveness.
- Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts by cross-selling products and anticipating customer demand.
Supplier & Vendor Liaison
- Interface directly with suppliers, manufacturers, and vendor representatives to obtain pricing, technical specifications, and lead-time commitments.
- Expedite open quotes and supplier purchase orders to guarantee timely delivery and fast response times to customers.
- Negotiate pricing, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and delivery terms with vendors to maximize competitiveness and profit margins.
- Monitor vendor performance, responsiveness, and lead-time accuracy, escalating critical delays when necessary.
Technical & Compliance Support
- Ensure vendor quotes and parts meet strict customer specifications, military standards/specifications, and industry compliance requirements.
- Verify documentation needs (e.g., Certificates of Conformance, material certifications, flow-down quality clauses) with vendors prior to order placement.
- Coordinate with internal Quality Assurance teams to resolve any vendor discrepancies or non-conformances.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Work Location: Must be able to reliably commute to our Broadview Heights, OH office daily. (Remote work is not available for this position).
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in account management or customer service within the aerospace, defense, or high-reliability manufacturing industries.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of aerospace/defense procurement, government/military specifications, and supply chain dynamics.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to build rapport with vendors and customers alike.
- Negotiation & Problem Solving: Strong negotiation tactics and creative problem-solving skills under tight deadlines.
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to read part descriptions, cross-reference part numbers, and understand basic technical requirements.
- System Proficiency: Strong proficiency with ERP/CRM software, Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook), and customer portal management.
- ITAR / Export Compliance: Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) due to strict federal ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations) compliance requirements for defense articles handling.
