Oakwood Group is a family-owned manufacturing company committed to creating and promoting excellence, being our customer's first choice, and treating everyone with dignity and respect.

We're looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer with approximately 1–2 years of quality, manufacturing, engineering, or related technical experience who is ready to grow their career in supplier quality.

Oakwood Group is looking for someone with a solid foundation, strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the curiosity and initiative to continue learning.

In this role, you'll work directly with suppliers and our Purchasing, Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to solve quality issues, support new program launches, and improve supplier performance. You'll gain hands-on experience across supplier quality while making a visible impact on our manufacturing operations and customers.

    What You'll Do

    • Support PPAP activities, new program launches, and engineering changes.
    • Participate in supplier audits and process reviews.
    • Monitor supplier quality performance and work with suppliers to improve results.
    • Partner with Purchasing, Production, Engineering, Quality, and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
    • Travel to supplier locations as needed to investigate concerns and support improvement activities.

    What You'll Bring

    We're looking for someone with:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
    • Approximately 1–2 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, engineering, or a related technical role.
    • Basic knowledge of auditing principles and structured problem-solving methods, with an interest in continuing to develop these skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to investigate issues, ask thoughtful questions, and work toward practical solutions.
    • Curiosity and an aptitude for learning new concepts, processes, and quality tools.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organization, follow-through, accountability, and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional manufacturing teams.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
    • Ability to travel up to 40%.

Experience We'd Be Happy to Build On

We're willing to train the right candidate who brings a strong foundation and a desire to grow. Exposure to any of the following is a plus, but not required:

    • PPAP and supplier quality processes
    • SPC, MSA, and statistical analysis
    • PFMEA and Control Plans
    • APQP and automotive core tools
    • IATF 16949 or ISO 9001 quality management systems
    • Supplier audits and corrective action processes
    • Automotive or Tier 1/Tier 2 manufacturing environments

    • 401(k) with Company Match
    • 13 Paid Holidays
    • Collaborative Team Environment
    • Opportunities to expand your supplier quality and manufacturing expertise
