Client: SUNY Upstate Medical University Location: Syracuse, New York Department: Supply Chain / Materials Management Environment: Academic Medical Center / Hospital Supply Chain Position Type: Temporary Staffing Assignment Schedule: Multiple shifts may be required, including overnight shifts Work Setting: On-site; hospital campuses, materials management areas, warehouse/distribution, receiving and clinical support areas
Position Overview
SUNY Upstate Medical University is seeking dependable, hands-on Supply Chain Management Expediters to support its hospital supply chain and Materials Management operations across its Syracuse healthcare system.
This is an operational healthcare supply-chain position responsible for ensuring that medical supplies, equipment, specialty carts, packages and other materials are received, inventoried, stocked, picked, assembled, delivered, cleaned and made available to hospital departments when needed.
The position is critical to the day-to-day operation of a major academic medical center. SUNY Upstate operates two hospital campuses and provides highly specialized services including pediatric, trauma, burn, intensive-care and other clinical services.
Candidates should understand that this is not a desk-based supply-chain analyst or purchasing position. The successful candidate will spend substantial time standing, walking, stocking, moving supplies, delivering equipment and working directly within hospital supply-chain operations.
SUNY currently utilizes more than 60 temporary Supply Chain Management Expediters, with personnel supporting all three shifts, including overnight.
