    Job Description

Every time someone streams a movie, runs a machine learning model, or spins up a server - that"s powered by physical hardware in an AWS data center. When that hardware breaks, someone needs to make sure the right replacement part is already there, ready to go. That someone is you.

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) Supply Chain manages the end-to-end supply chain for server racks, frontier outposts, networking, and power and cooling equipment across AWS data centers worldwide. We deliver capacity based on new technology - when and where it"s needed - while maintaining a fair, equitable, safe, and sustainable approach to sourcing.

We"re looking for a Supply Chain Manager who can think beyond day-to-day order management and take ownership of how we keep an entire region stocked, balanced, and ready. This isn"t a "check the box and pass it along" role - you"ll be the person who sees patterns across hundreds of sites, figures out why something keeps going wrong, and builds the fix.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Keep the region healthy. Monitor hardware availability across the Americas, identify root causes when things go wrong, and build action plans that fix problems at their source.
    • Balance the network. Analyze inventory positions and demand trends across sites. When one location has too much and another too little, you drive the rebalancing.
    • Own delivery performance. You"ll track whether parts are arriving on time, dig into exceptions, and work with logistics partners to improve delivery windows and carrier compliance.
    • Manage inventory accuracy. You"ll ensure what"s in the system matches what"s on the shelf - monitoring storage locations, cycle counts, and material flows between warehouses and data centers.
    • Bring new sites online. When we open a new data center, you"ll own the spares readiness plan - making sure the right parts are in place before the first server goes live.
    • Drive improvement projects. You"ll lead initiatives that make our planning processes smarter, faster, and more automated. If you see something broken, you own fixing it.
    • Communicate to leadership. Translate complex supply chain data into clear recommendations for senior leaders - influencing where we invest and how we prioritize.

    A day in the life

You start by checking regional health - are parts flowing on time? Any stockouts building? From there, you might jump on a call with logistics to work a delivery issue, coordinate an inventory move between sites, or dig into a trend where the same component keeps running short. Some days you"re managing an escalation; others you"re leading a process improvement project. You"ll also partner with engineering on automation ideas or mentor teammates on complex inventory problems. No two days look the same, but you"re always making the system smarter.

    About the team

Our mission is simple: make sure AWS data centers never run out of the parts they need to stay online. We"re a tight-knit group of planners who each own a region and partner with logistics, operations, and procurement daily. Your customers are the data center technicians who rely on you to have the right part ready when hardware fails - and your success means millions of AWS customers experience zero disruption. We move fast, we"re data-driven, and we give each other autonomy. If you like solving puzzles, building better systems, and seeing direct impact, you"ll fit right in.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
