Support Specialist/DSP - Sacramento/Fair Oaks

Vision Life is hiring dependable, compassionate DSPs to provide in‑home support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in their own homes in Fair Oaks/Sacramento. You’ll help people remain safe, healthy, and as independent as possible where they live.


Responsibilities

• Support with daily living activities (ADLs), personal care, and hygiene as needed
• Coach independent living skills, community integration, and social activities
• Follow person-centered plans and behavioral strategies; complete accurate, timely documentation
• Assist with medications per policy (if trained/authorized)
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow health/safety protocols
• Communicate professionally with individuals served, families, and team members
• Must be dog friendly

Minimum requirements

• 18+ years old; high school diploma or equivalent
• Valid CA driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
• Able to pass DOJ/FBI background check (Live Scan) and eligible to work in the U.S.
• Current or willingness to obtain quickly: CPR/First Aid and TB/health screening
• Completion of required new-hire and in-service trainings (paid)
• Experience as a DSP/caregiver preferred but not required
• Ability to assist with transfers and be on your feet for extended periods

Schedule Requirements:

• Must be available to work 12-hour shifts.
• Must be available to work 48-hour weekend shifts as scheduled.
• Weekend availability is required.
