Exciting opportunity for Surgery Center Assistant! This position offers a four-day workweek, Monday through Thursday, with hours dependent on the surgery schedule. You’ll play a central role in fostering a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our patients. Your responsibilities will include supporting sterile processing, assisting with patient care, ensuring smooth room turnover, and managing inventory effectively. Understanding medical terminology and having hands-on patient care skills are a plus. Startsat 7 am and ends depending on the clinic'ssurgery schedule. Approximately 22-32 hours a week.

Starts at $18 per hour.

Great for college students taking afternoon or evening classes.

MUST HAVE CURRENT CPR CERTIFICATION!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with sterile processing, including cleaning, packaging, and sterilizing instruments according to infection control standards.
  • Take and document vital signs accurately under the supervision of nursing staff.
  • Flip rooms efficiently between surgical cases, including cleaning and restocking.
  • Manage inventory by monitoring supply levels and assisting with ordering and restocking surgical and medical supplies.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of storage areas and supply rooms.
  • Provide patient assistance as directed, including transporting patients, providing comfort measures, and answering basic questions.
  • Support clinical and administrative staff with daily operational tasks to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Adhere to all infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors to support the center’s mission and patient care goals.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or surgical setting preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and sterile techniques is a plus.
  • Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment:

  • May involve standing for long periods and lifting or moving supplies and equipment.
  • Exposure to medical and cleaning chemicals and environments typical of a surgical setting.

Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
