Primary Duties and Responsibilities

As a Surgery Scheduler, float, you will be responsible for patient scheduling, admissions, and therapeutic procedures: obtaining insurance authorizations, answer, screen and respond to incoming calls, prepare all documentation, charts, encountering and other information needed for physician clinics, schedule patient needed appointments, x-rays, surgery, and tests. Prepare all necessary documents and forward to appropriate departments including insurance authorizations, charge documents and reconciliations and disability and worker's compensation forms. Explain charges to patients and assist patients with billing questions, communicated directly with department billing and Physician Support Services. Serve as a liaison between patients, physicians, nursing units and other UCLA departments. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports, as needed. Responsibilities also include providing support in appointment scheduling, pre-registration, patient reception, cash collection and other related duties. The Surgery Scheduler will travel and work at department clinics throughout the community as assigned by the supervisor for coverage. Other duties, as assigned.
Salary Range: $30.36 - $43.49 hourly
