As a Surgical Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the Mesa Clinic with potential travel to our Payson and Florence Clinics. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality, and in a timely manner.

 

The ideal candidate is someone who can be assertive and confident. You must possess great decision-making skills, excellent time management, and the ability to effectively communicate with multiple Physicians and colleagues while having the eagerness to learn. 

 

Responsibilities

 
  • Surgical Assisting
  • Wound care
  • Clinic/vitals
  • Update and file medical records and insurance reports.
  • Arrange/schedule outside testing and referrals.
  • Chart documentation
  • Assist during medical examinations.
  • Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms.
  • Physiological studies
  • Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments - Knowledge of sterilization procedures and protocols.
  • Clinical decision making
  • Phone triage

 

Skills

 
  • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Social perceptiveness and service-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • NextGen, Centricity, FIVOS(Medstreaming)/EMR knowledge
  • Being bilingual is a HUGE plus
  • Required: 1 year of Back Office Medical Assistant experience; the Company is willing to train on Front Office
  • Medical Assistance Certification is preferred but not required
