Sante Consulting is conducting a national search on behalf of our client, for a talented, board-certified Surgical Pathologist to join an established and collaborative team in Bangor, Maine.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected private practice group of 15 pathologists in a high-volume, high-complexity hospital system. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced colleagues with diverse subspecialty expertise, supported by exceptional laboratory facilities, ancillary staff, and diagnostic resources.

The Opportunity

The client serves an estimated population of 600,000, providing exposure to a broad and diverse range of specimens across hospital and clinical settings.

The practice processes approximately 65,000 surgical specimens annually and offers a comprehensive diagnostic environment with in-house histology, cytopathology, molecular diagnostics, and flow cytometry. The group is also implementing a digital pathology platform to support collaboration and integration across Versant clients' growing national network.

Key responsibilities include:

· Providing comprehensive surgical pathology services across a broad range of specimen types and diagnostic complexities.

· Participating in the practice's autopsy service, averaging approximately 10 autopsies annually.

· Sharing anatomic and clinical pathology call coverage, averaging approximately four weeks per year per pathologist.

· Collaborating with colleagues across multiple pathology subspecialties to deliver high-quality diagnostic services.

· Contributing to a collegial, patient-focused practice committed to diagnostic excellence.

Qualifications

· MD or DO degree.

· Board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP).

· Board certification or a subspecialty interest in one or more of the following areas:

o Cytopathology

o Gynecologic pathology

o Genitourinary pathology

o Breast pathology

· Experience in surgical pathology, cytopathology, or dermatopathology is valued.

· Strong diagnostic skills and a commitment to collaborative, high-quality patient care.
