Surgical Scheduler/Coordinator

At SPG we are committed to fostering a progressive and rewarding medical practice environment that promotes professional and personal growth Core Competencies and Responsibilities Cordially interacts with physicians, vendors, clinical support, and hospital staff Exemplifies strong customer service skills to phone etiquette Demonstrates understanding, compassion and sensitivity towards patients, coworkers, and families Understands various specialist surgical procedures Abides by scheduling protocol as directed by physicians Handles insurance verifications, referrals, and authorizations according to office guidelines Follows CPT and ICD9 best practices Minimum Requirements 5 years experience in a medical office setting, or equivalent experience 2 years experience in surgical scheduling Previous experience in an ambulatory or hospital setting Thorough knowledge of CPT/ ICD9 coding and experience with surgical modifiers Ability to interact with all levels of physician practice Must be able to handle multiple physicians with multiple specialties Must be able to exhibit a history of customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience Preferences Athena Experience Additional information To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
