    Job Description

    Our Client, a Healthcare company, is looking for a Surgical Technician for their Royal Oak, MI location.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepares and anticipates instrumentation, equipment, and supplies for usage during the procedure.
    • Sets up the sterile back table and Mayo stand with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for the procedure.
    • Performs instrument, sharps and sponge counts with the circulator.
    • Participates in procedure final verification and during the briefing process.
    • Assists with draping the patient and establishing the sterile field.
    • Anticipates the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedure.
    • Maintains highest standard of sterile technique during the procedure.
    • Prepares and passes off specimen(s) as appropriate
    • Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization, when assigned.
    • Assists other members of the team with cleaning the operating room to facilitate turn overs.
    • Participates in debriefing and quality improvement practices to ensure quality patient care.
    • Assists in the development of a proper learning environment in relation to orientation and education of personnel and students.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    • Required High School Diploma Preferred Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
    • Required Prior training required by a hospital, Surgical Technology, or military program that meets the knowledge, skill, and ability required to perform the role. Preferred Membership to the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST)
    • 1 year of relevant experience Minimum of one-year experience is preferred for all roles. Preferred
    • CRT-Surgical Technologist, Certified (CST) - NBSTSA National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting 180 Days preferred CRT-Basic Life Support Instructor (BLS INSTR) - AHA American Heart Association
