    • Hillcrest Hospital Claremore is a 49-bed acute care medical center offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including maternity and women’s services, ICU and cardiology services in the advanced cardiac catheterization lab.

    Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech:

    Responsibilities:
    • Prepare the operating room with necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures. 
    • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and work closely with the circulating nurse. 
    • Terminally clean the operating room after each procedure and restock supplies.
    • Under the direction of a registered nurse, carry out all scrub duties as outlined in the department procedure manual.
    • Create and maintain a sterile field and provide instruments to the surgeon. 
    Qualifications:

    Job Requirements: 

    • Graduate from an accredited Certified Surgical Technology Program
    • High School diploma or GED
    • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

    Preferred Job Requirements: 

    • One year of Surgical Technology experience 
    • Certified Surgical Technologist through the NBSTSA or NCCT
