PMC has a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, an adult intensive care unit, nationally recognized orthopedic services, a full suite of cardiac care, Center of Excellence-recognized surgeons, imaging, and primary and specialty care.Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech: ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate the ability to perform assistive duties in the L&D area under the direction of the RNResponsible for the preparation, disbursement of surgical supplies, equipment, and instrumentation pre-, intra-, and post-operativelyDemonstrate knowledge of principles of asepsisAssume responsibility for clinical competence and professional developmentDemonstrate knowledge of the Infant Security PlanTransports stable newborn via crib within the Woman's and Children's departmentsParticipate in the responsible management of all departmental resources QualificationsJob Requirements:High School diploma or equivalent.Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technician course or equivalent.BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.Preferred Job Requirements:Certified Surgical Technologist preferred, but will consider LPN with 1-2 years of experience in a similar position.One year of operating room experience.
