Position SummaryWe are seeking a Surgical Technologist (Scrub Tech) to support pain management and ophthalmology procedures at our busy surgery center. This role is responsible for preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile environment, and assisting the surgical team throughout procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and organize instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies for procedures.
- Maintain the sterile field and follow infection prevention protocols.
- Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and assist the surgical team as needed.
- Prepare and position patients for surgery.
- Perform instrument and sponge counts before and after procedures.
- Clean, sterilize, and restock equipment and operating rooms between cases.
- Monitor surgical equipment and ensure supplies are available.
- Maintain accurate procedure documentation and communicate patient-related information to the nursing team.
- Follow facility policies, safety standards, and required training guidelines.
QualificationsRequired- High school diploma or GED
- Current BLS certification
- At least 1 year of healthcare experience
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
Preferred- At least 2 years of operating room experience
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential, where applicable
