Summary: The Survey Crew Chief position requires you to implement critical thinking and problem-solving skills. You will serve as the crew lead and will operate data collections systems and instruments to acquire and process data for various types of surveys. You will be provided detailed direction on project scope, deliverables, schedule, and required tools, as well as necessary daily quantities required by the project work plan. It is your responsibility to communicate with your supervisor when you encounter obstacles for completing the work as planned. It is mandatory that you complete your work in a safe manner. culture. Responsibilities:
• Operate in 1-2 person crews while utilizing Total station and/or GPS to collect data points to be used to perform Topographic Surveys, ALTA Surveys, Preliminary & Final Plats, Construction Staking and As-Built Surveys.
• Process survey data through a variety of software tools inclusive of AutoCAD.
• Deliver survey data within the project tolerance.
• Act as TREKK's points of contact for the public in the field, you will be expected to understand and deliver to the TREKK customer experience.
• Share your technical knowledge by mentoring junior surveyors and serve as a technical resource and train or assist others as needed.
• Assist with the financial wellbeing and profitability of your projects by delivering your work product accurately and on time.
• Adhere to all professional/technical requirements of the survey as directed by the Survey Manager.
• Maintain and care for the survey vehicles and equipment including instrument calibration.
• Coordinate with the Survey Manager to understand the scope and schedule of your assigned project work.
• Lead and direct the survey crew to perform timely accurate surveys.
• Perform LiDAR data extraction.
• Perform land research as needed.
• All other duties as assigned.
