Location: Pleasantville, NY, NY | Full-Time | $25–$30/hour DOE

We are an established land surveying firm serving clients throughout Westchester County and the surrounding area. Our work includes municipal infrastructure, boundary and topographic surveys, construction layout, real estate development, and a variety of specialized surveying projects.

The Position

We are seeking a Survey Instrument Operator to join one of our field crews.

You will work alongside an experienced Party Chief as part of a two-person survey crew, gaining hands-on experience across a variety of land surveying projects.

This position is ideal for someone with approximately 2–5 years of field surveying experience who wants to continue developing their technical skills and build a long-term career in land surveying.

Types of Projects

Our crews perform:

• Boundary surveys
• Topographic surveys
• Construction stakeout and layout
• Municipal right-of-way surveys
• Engineering and infrastructure surveys
• Real estate development surveys
• FEMA elevation certificates
• Environmental and wetland surveys
• Bathymetric surveys
• Other land surveying and mapping projects

Approximately 40% of our work is municipal, with the remainder primarily consisting of boundary, topographic, and construction/layout projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Party Chief with daily field operations
• Operate total stations, GNSS/GPS, data collectors, and other surveying equipment
• Collect accurate field measurements and data
• Assist with boundary and topographic surveys
• Assist with construction stakeout and layout
• Locate and identify property evidence and survey monuments
• Maintain accurate field notes and electronic data
• Set up and maintain surveying equipment
• Follow established field procedures and safety practices
• Develop surveying skills through hands-on experience

Qualifications

• Approximately 2–5 years of land surveying field experience
• Experience operating total stations, GPS/GNSS, and/or data collectors
• Basic understanding of boundary and topographic surveying
• Construction layout experience is a plus
• Ability to work effectively as part of a two-person crew
• Strong attention to detail
• Dependable and willing to learn
• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
• Valid driver's license

Schedule & Compensation

• $25–$30/hour, depending on experience
• Monday–Friday, approximately 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
  
• Approximately one Saturday per month may be requested based on workload
• Crews report to the office each morning, travel to the job site in a company vehicle, and return to the office at the end of the day
