Survey Project Manager

Palm Beach County

Compensation: $95,000 - $150,000+ Base Salary

Bonus: Annual Performance Bonus (Typically 10-20%+)

Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established and growing surveying and geomatics organization seeking an experienced Survey Project Manager to join its South Florida team. This is a leadership position responsible for overseeing survey projects, managing technical staff, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring successful project delivery from proposal through final completion.

This role is ideal for a land surveying professional who combines strong technical expertise with project management and leadership experience.

What You'll Be Doing

Project Management

  • Manage multiple land surveying projects simultaneously

  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans

  • Monitor project progress, profitability, and deliverables

  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget

  • Coordinate project transitions between departments and field teams

Team Leadership

  • Lead Survey Coordinators, CAD Technicians, Surveyors, and Field Personnel

  • Allocate workload and resources effectively

  • Mentor and develop team members

  • Establish performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback

  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and quality

Client Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients

  • Maintain and strengthen existing client relationships

  • Assist with business development and client growth initiatives

  • Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and fee estimates

  • Participate in professional organizations and industry events

Technical Oversight

  • Review survey deliverables, reports, plats, and mapping products

  • Ensure quality control and compliance standards are met

  • Interpret legal descriptions, boundary information, and survey records

  • Support field and office teams with technical guidance

  • Conduct occasional QA/QC site visits as needed

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Extensive land surveying experience

  • Previous project management experience within surveying

  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and client relationships

  • Strong leadership and team management background

  • Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously

Technical Requirements

  • Civil 3D

  • AutoCAD

  • MicroStation

  • Trimble equipment and software

  • Leica equipment experience is a plus

  • Strong understanding of boundary, ALTA, topographic, utility, and land development surveys

Licensing

  • Florida Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM) License preferred

  • Candidates pursuing Florida licensure will also be considered

Please Note: Candidates whose backgrounds are primarily construction staking or construction surveying without broader land surveying experience may not be the ideal fit.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary

$95,000 - $150,000+ (Based on experience, project management background, and licensure)

Bonus Program

  • Typical annual bonus ranges from 10% to 20%

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based role

  • Limited field travel for project oversight and QA/QC activities

  • Typical schedule:

  • 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

  • or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

  • Average workweek of approximately 45 hours

This is a fully onsite position. Remote work is not available due to government contracting and CMMC compliance requirements.
