    The Surveying Technician supports our surveying and engineering teams by performing a variety of field, office, and mapping duties. This position also assists with drafting, mapping, and complies surveying information on coordinates, pictures, angles, and distances.

    Requirements

    Key Responsibilites:

    • Sets up, adjusts, operates, inspects surveying equipment, including electronic total station, data collector to measure distances, elevations, angles, and other data in order to collect survey data.
    • Participates and observes field and construction investigations.
    • Processes data from manual or electronic field books.
    • Performs basic field calculations on construction projects.
    • Retraces or surveys boundary lines under supervision.
    • Assists in researching existing record information, including record maps, plans, deeds, easements, and right-of-way documents; and maintain field data record.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
    • An associate degree in a civil engineering or land surveying program is preferred.
    • One or more years of relevant work experience related to surveying services is preferred.
    • College course work in surveying or civil engineering field is preferred

    License or Certification Requirements:

    • Valid driver's license is required

    Physical Requirements:

    • This position requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
    • Be able to walk and climb over rough terrain

    PPE Requirements:

    • Hi-Visibility clothing should be worn on job sites and in the field as necessary.
