Pay Range: $50.00 - $65.00per hr

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support and enhance a highly available, mission-critical compute environment built on HPE NonStop (Tandem) platforms. This role is responsible for maintaining system stability, optimizing performance, and ensuring continuous uptime for core transaction processing systems. The ideal candidate brings deep platform expertise, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and a proactive approach to operational excellence while collaborating across infrastructure, application, and security teams.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting HPE NonStop (Tandem) environments
• Strong experience with system administration, configuration, patching, and upgrades
• Proven ability to monitor and optimize system performance, capacity, and availability
• Experience with performance tuning, root cause analysis, and issue resolution
• Knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
• Experience supporting high availability and fault-tolerant systems
• Familiarity with system security, user access controls, and auditing practices
• Ability to support full platform lifecycle including deployments, maintenance, and automation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a systems-level mindset
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• Experience supporting financial transaction processing or similar high-volume systems
• Strong collaboration skills working across cross-functional technical teams
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement
• Experience contributing to process improvements, standards, or operational best practices
• Leadership or mentoring experience within technical teams
