Job Description

Tell us about your department:
The Productivity Tools team at client is responsible for engineering, governance, administration, and support of enterprise productivity and collaboration capabilities across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. The team delivers secure, scalable, and supportable solutions using Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Power Platform, Microsoft Graph, and related cloud services to improve communication, collaboration, automation, and employee productivity.

Project Description:
This position is designed as an Engineer III staff augmentation role to expand the engineering capabilities of the Productivity Tools team. We are seeking an individual who can quickly become a trusted technical contributor and contribute across multiple Microsoft 365 workloads, with a primary focus on Power Platform engineering, enterprise governance, solution architecture, and automation.

The ideal candidate will have deep, hands-on experience designing, building, governing, and supporting business solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft 365 services. This person should be comfortable partnering directly with business stakeholders, troubleshooting complex platform issues, developing governance strategies, and delivering enterprise-scale solutions that balance business agility, security, compliance, and operational excellence.
We are looking for a self-directed engineer who can operate with appropriate guidance, contribute to technical direction, improve platform maturity, and remain hands-on in solution delivery and operational support.

Position Summary / Job Description:
•Enterprise Solution Architecture: Design and implement enterprise business solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and related Microsoft 365 services. Translate business requirements into secure, scalable, maintainable, and supportable technical designs.
•Power Apps Engineering: Design, build, enhance, and support Canvas and Model-Driven applications. Apply sound user experience, security, data, performance, accessibility, and maintainability practices.
•Power Automate Engineering: Develop and maintain complex cloud flows and business process automations. Troubleshoot failures involving connectors, authentication, permissions, expressions, concurrency, data dependencies, service limits, and downstream integrations.
•Dataverse & Data Architecture: Design Dataverse tables, relationships, security roles, business rules, and solution components. Select appropriate data sources and integration patterns based on business, security, licensing, supportability, and scale requirements.
•Power Platform Governance & Strategy: Define and implement enterprise standards for environment strategy, Data Loss Prevention policies, connector governance, Managed Environments, tenant settings, capacity, licensing, ownership, inventory, lifecycle, and risk management.
•Application Lifecycle Management: Establish and improve development, test, and production practices using solutions, environment variables, connection references, source control, deployment pipelines, and release controls. Support CI/CD through Azure DevOps or GitHub where appropriate.
•SharePoint Online Engineering: Design, administer, and support SharePoint Online solutions, including site architecture, information architecture, metadata, permissions, external sharing, search, lifecycle management, and content governance. Integrate SharePoint with Power Platform and other Microsoft 365 services.
•Automation & Integration: Build integrations and administrative automation using Microsoft Graph, SharePoint REST APIs, PowerShell, PnP PowerShell, custom connectors, Azure Automation, and related Azure services.
•Security, Compliance & Risk: Partner with security, privacy, compliance, and architecture teams to apply least-privilege access, data protection, auditability, retention, and enterprise control requirements to platform and solution designs.
•Troubleshooting & Escalations: Serve as a technical escalation resource for Power Platform, SharePoint Online, and cross-service Microsoft 365 issues. Perform root cause analysis, document corrective actions, and coordinate with Microsoft or other vendors as needed.
•Operational Excellence: Improve monitoring, alerting, support readiness, service health, capacity management, incident response, change management, and problem management. Create durable operational processes rather than one-time fixes.
•Technical Leadership & Enablement: Contribute to engineering standards and reusable patterns, participate in design reviews, mentor makers and peers where appropriate, create technical documentation and runbooks, and support product roadmaps and platform strategy.
•Business Partnership: Work with business and technology stakeholders to evaluate opportunities, clarify requirements, explain tradeoffs, provide estimates and recommendations, and deliver measurable business outcomes.

Skills Overview:
Top Five Required Skills & Experience:
•5+ years of experience engineering Microsoft enterprise technologies, including responsibility for Microsoft 365, Power Platform, SharePoint Online, or closely related cloud services.
•3+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, troubleshooting, and supporting production Power Apps and Power Automate solutions, including integrations and enterprise operational support.
•Demonstrated experience designing and implementing Power Platform governance, including environment strategy, Data Loss Prevention policies, connector controls, security, lifecycle management, ownership, inventory, capacity, and licensing considerations.

•Experience with Power Platform application lifecycle management, including solutions, environment variables, connection references, deployment pipelines, and controlled releases across environments.
•Experience applying enterprise security, privacy, compliance, accessibility, and least-privilege principles to technical solutions.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to engineering teams, business partners, and leadership audiences.
•Experience with ITSM practices such as incident, change, and problem management, including root cause analysis and production support ownership.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have:
•Microsoft Power Platform Solution Architect Expert, Power Platform Developer Associate, or related Microsoft certification.
•Experience with Copilot Studio, AI Builder, agents, or other AI-enabled business solutions and associated governance considerations.
•Experience operating a Power Platform Center of Excellence or comparable enterprise governance and enablement program.
•Experience with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Key Vault, App Registrations, managed identities, and secure API integration patterns.
•Experience implementing CI/CD with Azure DevOps or GitHub and applying source control, testing, code review, and release management practices.
•Experience supporting a large, highly regulated enterprise with complex security, compliance, licensing, and stakeholder requirements.
•Experience modernizing legacy SharePoint, InfoPath, SharePoint Designer workflow, or custom line-of-business solutions.
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
What success looks like in 90–180 days:
•Completes an assessment of the current Power Platform and SharePoint landscape, identifies material governance and operational gaps, and provides a prioritized improvement plan.
•Becomes a trusted escalation resource for complex Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft 365 integration issues.
•Improves platform reliability and supportability through monitoring, automation, documentation, root cause remediation, and repeatable operational practices.
•Establishes or strengthens standards for solution architecture, application lifecycle management, environment usage, data protection, ownership, deployment, and production support.
•Delivers or materially advances enterprise solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate while demonstrating secure, maintainable, and scalable engineering practices.
•Creates reusable patterns, runbooks, design guidance, and technical documentation that raise the engineering maturity of the broader team.
•Provides clear technical recommendations that influence platform roadmap, governance, and investment decisions.

Ideal Profile:
We are targeting an Engineer III Microsoft 365 engineer who can contribute across Power Platform, SharePoint Online, enterprise governance, solution architecture, automation, and production operations. The ideal candidate is comfortable discussing governance practices with stakeholders, troubleshooting a failing Power Automate flow, designing and building a Power App, evaluating Dataverse and SharePoint data patterns, integrating systems through APIs, and automating administrative work with PowerShell and Microsoft Graph.
This person should be a pragmatic, hands-on engineer who works effectively in a complex enterprise environment, communicates clearly, and consistently builds solutions that are secure, scalable, maintainable, and supportable.

Recruiter Screening Guidance:
•Prioritize candidates with substantial hands-on Power Platform engineering experience over candidates whose background is primarily SharePoint administration.
•Look for evidence that the candidate has personally built and supported production Power Apps and Power Automate solutions, not only administered environments or coordinated delivery.
•Governance experience should include implementation responsibility, such as environment strategy, Data Loss Prevention policies, connector controls, lifecycle management, inventory, ownership, or risk remediation.
•Strong candidates may have titles such as Power Platform Engineer, Microsoft 365 Engineer, Enterprise Collaboration Engineer, SharePoint Engineer, or Digital Workplace Engineer.
•Do not advance candidates whose Power Platform experience is limited to simple personal productivity flows or whose SharePoint experience is limited to site ownership or content administration.
