SMS is seeking a Mid-Senior level System Engineer to work as part of the BIM Design team. The position is a remote position; however, travel may be required for team collaboration on site location analysis.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, scalability, and extensibility of the design system, including component libraries, style guides, and design tokens
• Write and manage requirements for new features, UI updates, and legacy system enhancements; align with product managers, designers, and developers
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (design, engineering, product) to ensure seamless integration of design system elements into applications
• Assist in the development, testing, release, and support software updates for design system components as well as resolve bugs and implement solutions
• Maintain up-to-date documentation, high- and low-level design documents (HLD/LLD), and usage guidelines for internal and external teams
• Provide technical support to installers, end users, and internal teams; diagnose and resolve complex issues
• Strategic Initiatives: Develop and execute strategic initiatives for design system adoption, scalability, and performance improvements

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred

• Experience: Minium of 5-7 years of system engineering expertise with both physical and virtualized environments and modern UI frameworks

• Skills:
  • Underling of high-level programming languages and UI design tools
  • Knowledge of memory access protocols, semiconductor physics, and computer architecture (advantage)
  • Experience with debugging techniques

• Certifications:
  • CompTIA Security+CE
  • ITIL Foundation
  • RHCE/RHCSA – Preferred

• Clearance
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen
  • DoD Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain an Interim clearance.

• Up to 20% US based travel may be required.

Salary Range - $100,000 - $115,000
