Systems Engineer (Mid-Level & Senior)

to serve as the SCARS focal—leading adoption, interpretation, and enforcement of Simulator Common Architecture Requirements and Standards (SCARS) across the F-15 USAF simulator programs in

Berkeley, MO . The role emphasizes systems requirements engineering, standards harmonization, and cross-program governance to ensure simulator architectures meet SCARS guidance when possible and enable interoperability, reusability, and sustainment.

F-15 Training Systems provides trainers to USAF facilities throughout the US and at OCONUS locations to support warfighters.

The F-15 Training systems include high fidelity cockpits with immersive visualization systems, high fidelity computer generated forces to provide synthetic opponents to train against, and applications providing instructors control over training setup, execution and post-training debrief.

Position Responsibilities:Serve as the program SCARS focal and technical authority for simulator architecture standards and required artifactsDevelop, review, and enforce system-level requirements, ICDs, and compliance matrices ensuring alignment to SCARSTranslate SCARS standards into program-specific requirements and acceptance criteria; maintain traceabilityCoordinate with program systems engineers, software, simulation/Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) leads, and Program Managers to drive standards adoptionLead conformance reviews, audits, and gap analyses; generate remediation plans and verification strategiesMaintain and evolve SCARS artifacts, templates, and guidanceProvide subject-matter expertise during design reviews, integration planning, and supplier/vendor compliance checksMentor junior systems engineers on requirements best practices, MBSE/SysML usage, and verification traceabilitySupport accreditation, cybersecurity, and configuration management activities tied to SCARS compliance

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement5+ years' systems engineering experience with emphasis on system requirements development, management, and verificationExperience authoring and reviewing high-quality system requirements, ICDs, and compliance matricesExperience with management and requirements traceabilityExcellent written/oral communication with ability to produce standards artifacts and lead cross-functional reviews

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of higher education and experience (Senior Level 4)Boeing or defense simulation standards experience, SCARS exposure preferred.Experience with simulator architectures, DMO/Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) concepts, HLA/DIS/CIGI or similar standardsExperience with MBSE/SysML tools and requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS)Experience with verification/validation planning, test-case derivation from requirements, and after action review artifacts
