What is a Systems Engineer?
The Systems Engineer is responsible for overall systems infrastructure including engineering, implementation and integration, and technical services and support.
In this role, you will:
- Design, implement, install, maintain, and administer infrastructure such as hardware, software, and various configurations
- Write software for user interfaces, embedded controls, and test management
- Work with vendors to specify components
- Be responsible for all functions such as electrical, mechanical, and software associated with R&D and manufacturing.
- Provide remote testing, technical support, and training
Required and Preferred Experience:
- 1-3 years related engineering experience
- Accountability, ownership of success
- Self-starter
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Operates in the office and occasionally in the field of an oil and gas service company manufacturing environment
- Regularly required to work indoors in a controlled environment or occasionally outdoors in harsh cold or hot environment
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, or hear, use hands to manipulate with fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands or arms, taste, or smell
- Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneed, crouch or crawl
- Lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. (SEF Energy employees shall not manually lift an item weighing more than 50 lbs., they shall utilize mechanical assistance devices. If mechanical assistance devices are not available, utilize a team lift.)
- Work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, cold or hot (non-weather), risk of electrical shock, vibration
- Ability to see at a close distance (clear vision at 20 inches or less), see at a long distance (clear vision at 20 feet or more), identify and distinguish colors, judge distances and spatial relationships, three-dimensional vision, adjust focus (adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus
- Quiet to loud noise conditions
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required
