Tech Refresh Lead for Training Systems Network Infrastructure

Lockheed Martin's TLS (Training and Logistics Solutions) organization delivers end to end secure Training and Logistics integration solutions for U.S. defense customers. Within TLS, the TSNI (Training Systems Network Infrastructure) effort provides a complete training solution for the F-35 war-fighter. Allowing for a cross domain networking platform that enables controlled, auditable training systems while meeting the highest cyber risk mitigation standards. This position is for a Lead Systems Engineer for the F-35 Training System Network Infrastructure (TSNI) program - Tech Refresh Lead. The Tech Refresh Lead will meet with team members, customers, and subcontractors to ensure projects stay on task. The candidate may also be required to be the technical authority on assigned projects, but not a Subject Matter Expert (SME). Also, the Tech Refresh Lead will be required to provide project status to the Integrated Product Team (IPT). The selected candidate will be involved with the Systems Engineering Lifecycle of projects, which includes tasks such as (but not limited to) proposal input, requirements management, design reviews, integration & test, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Program Ownership

• Serve as a Technical Lead for TSNI.
• Direct technology enhancement initiatives, targeting early‑schedule delivery and measurable labor‑cost reductions

Systems Engineering & Architecture

• Collaborate with the TSNI architecture team to integrate emerging security technologies into baseline configurations.
• Embed hardware‑engineering processes within the existing SE workflow to strengthen DevSecOps practices.

Design, Documentation & Compliance

• Author high‑level and detailed design documents, installation guides, configuration baselines, and Help‑Desk SOPs.
• Enforce handling of classified media and SIPRNet‑based documents per security policy.

Customer Support

• Conduct root‑cause analysis, develop work‑arounds, and log resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Serve as escalation point for complex issues.

Installation & Deployment Lead

• Lead troubleshooting sessions during on‑site and remote TSNI installations.
• Perform pre‑installation reviews of hardware, software, and network configurations to verify compliance.
• Act as a technical point‑of‑contact for the Installation Team; validate installation plans, configurations, and integration steps.

Cost & Schedule Management

• Perform as a CAM maintaining strong cost performance
• Perform forecasting, variance analysis, and provide financial insights for program decision‑making.

Agile / Project Management

• Drive IT projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies; act as Scrum Master when required.
• Organize travel logistics, execute IMS wall‑walks, and baselining.
• Lead on‑site training for TSNI product installations, ensuring smooth hand‑over to the customer.

Mentorship & Knowledge Transfer

• Mentor junior engineers, delivering comprehensive technical training and facilitating cross‑functional collaboration.

Travel

• Represent TSNI on customer sites as needed; typical short‑duration visits (on‑site support, installation validation, and security evaluations).

Standard Job Description

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.

Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years of Systems Engineering or Systems Integration & Test with Simulator experience
• Strong Organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work with customers and subcontractors in a professional manner
• Experience coding, scripting, and automating
• Experience working with automated testing tools
• Strong relationship skills
• Experience testing Training devices
• Microsoft PowerPoint Briefing experience

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00
