Systems Engineer Test Analyst

DESE Research, Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer – Test Analyst to join the team in Huntsville, AL. This role supports system-level performance analysis and test evaluation activities across a complex integrated defense architecture. The position focuses on analysis of ground and flight test data, development of analytical tools and methodologies, and assessment of system behavior across sensor, command and control, and interceptor engagement functions.

The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical and systems engineering experience, with the ability to evaluate complex system behaviors, collaborate across geographically distributed teams, and communicate technical findings to engineering and stakeholder audiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform system-level and element-level performance analysis using data generated from ground and flight test events.
• Support evaluation of integrated defense system kill chain performance including sensor acquisition, tracking, discrimination, engagement planning, and interceptor coordination.
• Develop analytical approaches, tools, and methodologies to support test analysis and reporting activities.
• Produce technical analysis products, briefings, and data review materials for engineering and stakeholder presentations.
• Collaborate with systems engineering teams, test organizations, operators, and program stakeholders to ensure tests meet technical objectives and mission requirements.
• Assess system behaviors and operational effectiveness across strategic and regional defense scenarios.
• Develop and utilize data analysis tools and workflows to support test event execution and post-test analysis.
• Support analysis of real-world event data and integrated system behaviors.
• Contribute to system-level interface analysis, verification activities, and technical assessments.
• Work independently and collaboratively within geographically distributed engineering teams.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD).
• Demonstrated analytical skills and experience supporting complex systems analysis or systems engineering efforts.
• Experience using analytical or data-driven tools to evaluate system performance.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly convey technical findings.
• Ability to work independently and within collaborative technical teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD clearance.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience supporting system-level testing, integration, or performance analysis within complex defense systems.
• Familiarity with integrated air and missile defense concepts, engagement planning, or command and control systems.
• Knowledge of system-level interface design and specification development.
• Experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, Tableau, or similar analytical tools.
• Experience developing tools or automation to support analytical workflows.
• Familiarity with sensor systems, weapon systems, interceptors, or integrated battle management concepts.
• Experience presenting technical analysis results to engineering teams or government stakeholders.
• Active Secret clearance or eligibility for higher-level clearance preferred.
