Description
Tax Accountant
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000
Schedule: Monday-Friday | Full Time
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 1 day remote after training.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process flow-through business entity tax returns using UltraTax
- Calculate business tax payments and assist with tax compliance activities
- Communicate with clients via email to obtain missing tax information and documentation
- Assist with special tax projects throughout the year
- Support the team during busy tax periods and help prepare for future filing seasons
- When tax workloads are lighter, assist with accounting functions and financial statement preparation (training provided if needed)
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance minimum
- Exposure to tax preparation or at least one tax season of experience
- Basic understanding of business tax compliance
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
- Comfortable learning new technology and software
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Experience preparing financial statements
- Public accounting or small firm tax experience
- Working toward CPA licensure
- Enrolled Agent (EA) designation
