This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in public accounting and taxation who thrives in a client-focused environment and is motivated by delivering value beyond compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the tax department to prepare and review individual, trust, partnership, corporate, and payroll tax returns
Deliver timely, accurate, and high-quality service to clients
Identify and suggest opportunities to expand and deepen client relationships through additional service offerings
Handle client inquiries and tax-related questions professionally and clearly
Gather and organize client documentation to ensure accurate tax return preparation and regulatory compliance
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
Experience: 3+ years in Public Accounting with a focus on tax
Tax Forms: Experience preparing/reviewing forms 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, payroll tax forms, and Maryland Personal Property Tax Return
Software: Proficiency with CCH ProSystem FX and QuickBooks
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and tasks under pressure
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong client service orientation
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong technical expertise in tax preparation and review
Experience with a national or large regional accounting firm is a plus
Master’s in Taxation preferred, but not required
CPA designation preferred
EA (Enrolled Agent) designation preferred
CFP (Certified Financial Planner) preferred
