Description

Acorn Financial Services manages over $1.4B in assets for high-net-worth individuals who require sophisticated oversight. As a Tax Advisor, your mission is to serve as the strategic lead for tax planning. You will architect proactive systems to mitigate taxes across complex portfolios, business transitions, and multi-generational transfers, ensuring our clients’ legacies are protected against tax friction and inflation.

Who You Are
  • You build with the long game in mind: You don't just look at this year’s return; you architect 10 and 20 year tax strategies that adapt as the legislative landscape shifts.
  • You are a master of proactive communication: You anticipate tax liabilities before they occur and guide clients through complex decisions with clarity and authority.
  • You lead with sincere candor: When a proposed investment or legal strategy is tax-inefficient, you address it directly, leveraging your fiduciary duty to guide the team toward the optimal outcome.
  • You raise the bar for everyone: You naturally mentor junior staff and educate the broader firm on evolving tax laws to elevate the collective technical competence of Acorn.
  • Required Credential(s): CPA, EA, or JD with valid PTIN
What You Will Do
  • Prepare Federal and State tax returns for UHNW clients (1040s) and their respective entities (1041s, 1065s, 1120S).
  • Design sophisticated tax-mitigation strategies for UHNW clients, including those navigating liquidity events or business sales.
  • Serve as the definitive tax authority in joint meetings with estate attorneys and wealth managers to ensure plan alignment.
  • Stay at the forefront of federal and state tax law shifts, proactively updating firm-wide strategies to protect client assets.
  • Review and refine the tax returns and strategies executed by the junior team, ensuring all deliverables meet Acorn's high-performance standards.
How We Measure Success
  • Measurably reduce the aggregate tax liability across your assigned cases through proactive architectural planning.
  • Maintain exceptional satisfaction scores and retention rates by simplifying complex tax concepts into actionable results.
  • Successfully conduct tax-reviews that increase the department's ability to service high-AUM clients without a linear increase in headcount.
What We Offer
We offer a highly competitive ecosystem featuring comprehensive benefits. By eliminating siloed billing pressures, we empower you to operate as a true strategic architect alongside top-tier wealth managers and estate attorneys.
