Tax Manager
Location: Bellevue, WA (Onsite) Compensation: $100K-$140K/yr DOE
Position Overview
We are seeking a Tax Manager to join our growing public accounting firm in Bellevue, WA. This individual will play a key leadership role within the tax practice, overseeing client relationships, reviewing complex tax returns, mentoring staff, and managing multiple engagements simultaneously.
The ideal candidate is a CPA with strong technical tax expertise, excellent client management skills, and experience reviewing both individual and passthrough entity returns. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking long-term growth with a collaborative and relationship-driven firm.
Key Responsibilities
Review federal and state tax returns for:
Individuals (1040)
Partnerships (1065)
S Corporations (1120S)
Manage a large portfolio of client relationships and engagements simultaneously
Oversee approximately 150–200 tax returns annually across a diverse client base
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing proactive communication and high-level service
Review and provide feedback on work prepared by staff and seniors
Mentor and develop junior team members through coaching and technical guidance
Manage project timelines, deadlines, and workflow to ensure timely and accurate delivery
Assist with tax planning, research, and complex tax matters
Collaborate with firm leadership on process improvements and client strategy
Qualifications
CPA license required
6+ years of public accounting tax experience
Minimum 2 years of experience reviewing and supervising staff work
Strong experience with both individual and passthrough entity returns (1040, 1065, and 1120S)
Experience with closely held businesses (preferred)
Experience in HNWI tax returns (a plus)
Experience with trusts and/ or estates (a plus)
Experience with any of the following client industries: Professional Services, Real Estate, or Auto
Proven ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and client relationships simultaneously
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
