Overview

a long-established, nationally ranked regional CPA firm in the Southeast is seeking a Tax Manager for its tax practice to lead client engagements, tax planning and review.

Responsibilities

• Supervise client work to ensure delivery within time, scope and budget
• Manage engagement and client expectations and lead client meetings
• Assess issue materiality and client risk tolerance; present ideas that lead to additional services
• Research and review work papers for book-to-tax differences and apply tax law to client circumstances
• Apply tax planning concepts and identify savings and risk-reduction opportunities
• Review research findings, returns and work papers for consistency with firm policy and professional standards (AICPA ethics, Circular 230, §6694)
• Pursue business development through new and existing contacts

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree required; Master's preferred
• CPA required
• 4+ years of tax experience
• Comprehensive understanding of tax code and rules
• Experience preparing returns and researching complex tax issues
• Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
