Work You'll Do
As a Tax Manager, you will lead federal tax compliance and consulting engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients. You will serve as a trusted advisor, work directly with client stakeholders, manage engagement teams and workstreams, and collaborate with Deloitte specialists to address complex tax matters and deliver practical, high-quality solutions.
You will oversee engagements from planning through completion, including coordinating teams, managing deliverables and priorities, and maintaining appropriate standards for quality, accuracy, and timeliness. You will provide tax compliance, advisory, planning, and controversy services tailored to client needs, while helping clients respond to changing business, regulatory, and tax requirements. You will also identify opportunities to improve tax processes and functions through effective use of technology, data, and operating-model approaches.
Success in this role requires the ability to exercise sound judgment, lead projects and workstreams, manage competing priorities, and communicate complex tax matters clearly. You will build lasting relationships with clients and colleagues, coach and develop team members, and contribute to a collaborative environment in which experienced professionals can expand their leadership, industry, and technical impact.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 5+ years' experience in federal tax compliance, federal tax accounting and provisions, tax analysis, and tax research
- One of the following active accreditations obtained:
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
- If not CPA eligible:
- Licensed Attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- Certifications:
- Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA)
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
Preferred:- Advanced degree (MST, JD, and/or LLM)
- Prior Big 4/large CPA firm experience
- Fiduciary income, transfer tax, and exempt-entity compliance/consulting for trusts, estates, and tax-exempt organizations
- Review and management of IRS filings (Forms 706, 1041, 1040)
- Cross-border compliance: identify foreign reporting obligations and prepare/advise on international/informational returns (e.g., 5471, 8858, 8865, 3520, 3520-A)
- U.S. tax structuring for multi-jurisdiction inheritance/succession planning, including domestic and foreign trust structures
- Strong tax research, technical writing, and issue-spotting; able to explain complex issues to clients and non-tax stakeholders
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $100,350- $179,875.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
