Tax Manager

Job Summary

The Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's income tax accounting, tax compliance, audit coordination, and tax risk management. The role manages federal and state tax filings, supports financial reporting, strengthens internal controls, ensures regulatory compliance, and partners with leadership on strategic tax initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage federal and state income tax compliance, including preparing, reviewing, and filing tax returns.
• Oversee income tax accounting for legal entities, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Develop, evaluate, and improve tax processes and internal controls.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reports.
• Manage federal and state tax audits and serve as the primary contact for taxing authorities.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Support strategic tax planning and special projects.
• Coordinate responses to external auditors and accounting firms.
• Analyze financial and tax data to support business decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership on tax-related matters.
• Perform additional tax and finance duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive professional experience in tax operations.
• Experience with income tax accounting, corporate tax, and partnership tax.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax compliance.
• Experience managing tax audits.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial systems (including D365 or similar platforms).
• Telecommunications or cable industry experience preferred.
• Experience with property tax and/or sales tax is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, time management, and communication skills.
