Tax Manager

Salary: $130,000-$160,000 annually + Bonus

Our client is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our growing public accounting team. This position is responsible for overseeing tax engagements, providing guidance to clients, leading team members, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality tax services. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with extensive public accounting experience and a solid understanding of tax regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a variety of tax engagements for individual and business clients.
  • Review and prepare complex federal and state tax returns while ensuring compliance with current tax laws.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by providing tax planning and consulting services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through exceptional service and communication.
  • Conduct tax research and prepare supporting documentation as needed.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff through coaching and performance management.
  • Oversee multiple engagements, balancing priorities to meet deadlines and budget objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

Qualifications

  • Active CPA license required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; advanced tax degree is a plus.
  • Six or more years of public accounting experience.
  • Previous experience supervising or managing staff.
  • Strong knowledge of individual, corporate, and partnership taxation.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with tax preparation software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
