Tax Manager

**Tax Manager — Syracuse, NY**

Pay: $120,000 - $140,000 + bonus potential

A well-respected regional CPA and advisory firm in Central New York is adding a Tax Manager to its team. This role offers a diverse client book, real leadership responsibility, and direct access to partners, without the bureaucracy of a large national firm.

What You'll Do:

- Manage a portfolio of individual, partnership, S-corp, C-corp, and fiduciary engagements from planning through filing

- Review returns, workpapers, and projections prepared by staff and seniors

- Advise closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals on proactive tax planning

- Research complex federal, state, and local tax issues and present clear recommendations

- Handle IRS and state notices and represent clients as needed

- Mentor, train, and develop staff and senior accountants

- Oversee engagement timelines, budgets, and client relationships

What You Bring:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's in Taxation a plus

- Active CPA license (or EA with strong public accounting background)

- 5+ years of public accounting tax experience, including review responsibility

- Strong knowledge of individual and pass-through entity taxation

- Experience with CCH Axcess, UltraTax, or similar software

- Excellent communication and leadership skills
