Position Specific Description

The Partnership Income Tax Manager is responsible for managing the organization's partnership income tax compliance, reporting, and supporting Tax Planning. This role oversees the preparation and review of partnership tax returns, partner reporting, tax research, and supports Tax Planning related to partnership structures and transactions. The manager works closely with accounting, finance, legal, and business stakeholders to ensure compliance with federal and state tax laws, supporting strategic business initiatives, and tax planning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the preparation, review, and timely filing of federal, state, and local partnership income tax returns (Forms 1065 and related filings), including distribution of Schedule K-1s.
  • Review partnership agreements to ensure tax allocations and reporting are consistent with governing documents and tax regulations.
  • Research and analyze complex partnership tax issues, including partner allocations, basis calculations, capital accounts, and partnership elections.
  • Support tax planning related to partnership formations, restructurings, contributions, distributions, acquisitions, and dispositions.
  • Coordinate responses to federal and state tax notices, examinations, and audits.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors and auditors on technical tax matters and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting partnership taxation and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Assist with tax forecasts, estimated tax calculations, and other partnership tax reporting requirements.
  • Build effective relationships with accounting, finance, legal, and business teams to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting.

This position is responsible for managing and directing all activities regarding the organization's tax policy including forecasting and analysis, planning and tax research.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Experience: 8+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Masters - Accounting / Finance
  • LLM - Master of Laws
